About me
Vichal is PFJ’s Managing Director of Capacity-Building, where he utilizes his technical expertise in holistic and collaborative defense, and experience implementing holistic practices to support public defenders throughout the country. He formerly served as Managing Director of the Civil Defense Practice at Neighborhood Defender Services of Harlem, creating a practice where he supervised attorneys and advocates representing clients on the civil consequences of criminal legal system involvement. While attending law school part-time, Vichal worked full-time as a Civil Legal Advocate at The Bronx Defenders. Upon graduation, Vichal returned to public defense and became a Staff Attorney and subsequently a Supervising Attorney at The Bronx Defenders. He is also a former President of the South Asian Bar Association of North America and the South Asian Bar Association of New York.
